Amelinghausen: Heidschnucken stall in Kronsbergheide

The Schnucken are at home here

In the Amelinghausen Heath region the Heidschnucken herd of shepherd Thomas Rebre can be found.

Do not be surprised: goats are also to be seen among the Heidschnucken; they assist the Schnucken since goats bite off even more of the pioneer plants like birches and pines.

Where are the Schnucken to be found?

Throughout the year, shepherd Rebre and his herd move from one heathland to the next pasture. Anyone who keeps their eyes and ears open in the heathland region of Amelinghausen can, with a bit of luck, see the Heidschnucken in the landscape and, above all, hear it.

Over the winter, the herd moves into the Heidschnucken stall in Kronsbergheide. Visitors are invited to come here in the spring when the lambs are born and their curiosity and playfulness cause plenty of excitement.
