A windmill restored to its former glory

The post mill in Londy Park in Rethem dates back to 1594 and is considered to be one of the oldest windmills of its kind in Lower Saxony.

The mill originally stood in the neighbouring village of Frankenfeld and was given to Rethem by the Administrative District of Rethem (Aller) in 1953 on the occasion of the town’s 600th anniversary. Since then, the mill has become the landmark of this laid-back town.

The post mill underwent complete restoration in 2015. Those keen to find out more about the mill can do so on a guided tour.
