Our family-run hotel is located in the romantic heath village of Müden (Örtze) and is a 4-star hotel in the southern Lüneburg Heath, originally founded in 1877 as a post station.

Location
Müden (Örtze) is less than a one hour drive from Hamburg and Hanover.
Hiking and cycling tours
You can set off on well-marked hikes and cycle tours in the Südheide Nature Park directly from Hotel Niemeyer.
The quality hiking trail "Heidschnuckenweg" leads directly through Müden (Örtze). It can be combined with the hiking tours of the Südheide Nature Park to create wonderful day tours as a circular hiking trail.
For cyclists, the route "In the footsteps of the postmaster" is recommended. This route links the old post office stops between Celle, the Lüneburg Heath and Hamburg. Our Posthotel was also one of these stops.

Cities and sights
The royal seat of Celle with its wide range of cultural attractions is just 40 kilometres from Niemeyer's Romantik Post Hotel. A guided tour of the old town with the largest contiguous half-timbered ensemble in Europe is particularly interesting, as is a visit to the residential palace with the oldest baroque theatre in Europe still in use today.
Just outside Celle is one of the three heath monasteries in our area - Wienhausen Cloiser, which is also well worth a visit. The other two monasteries are in Ebstorf and Lüneburg, which can be combined with a visit to the Hanseatic city of Lüneburg.

Stay overnight
Niemeyers Romantik Posthotel has 65 beds in individually and lovingly furnished guest rooms, which are located in the main building as well as in our guest houses "Sophie Charlotte" and "Mia Elisabeth". The rooms are characterised by upscale furnishings, which are reflected in a very modern ambience in the "Sophie Charlotte" and "Mia Elisabeth" guest houses. In the main house, beautiful, old wooden furniture is combined with light fabrics, furnishings and lots of half-timbering, creating a successful blend of tradition and modernity.
Culinary delights
In our restaurant "Schäferstuben" you can enjoy regional, German-French cuisine. Our opening hours are Tuesdays to Saturdays from 17.00 to 23.00, and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 12.00 to 14.00. Reservations are required! Our restaurant is closed on Mondays. Our hotel also offers ideal facilities for family celebrations and conferences.
Relaxation
The cosy wellness area of the Niemeyers Romantik Posthotel extends over 200 m². After an active day in the nature, you will find everything you need to feel completely at ease:
Enjoy the Finnish sauna, a bio-sauna with coloured light therapy, a Physio-Therm infrared cabin, heated benches with Kneipp footbaths, a small fitness room and a spacious relaxation room with a view of the garden.
Our park-like garden with its cosy spots and loungers invites you to settle down, rest and relax. You can read a book in the shade of old oak trees or simply soak up the sun and take in the scenery with our old staircase and the "Lührnhof-Deele".
By the way: We don't have a dress code, hikers and cyclists in casual leisure wear are of course very welcome here and fit in with our family atmosphere. We want you to feel completely at ease with us!
Room features
- The standard double rooms have a size of 21-28 m², are spacious and have a cosy sitting area. Two of the standard double rooms face the garden. The other standard double rooms are located on the 2nd floor facing the main or side street.
- Our double rooms with balcony have a view into our garden. They are between 23 and 28 m² in size, have modern furnishings and a small seating area with two armchairs.
- The spacious junior suites have a large, brightly furnished living room and bedroom with a cosy sitting area, mostly furnished with a couch and armchair. They face the main or side street and are 34-38 m² in size.
- Our two suites in the main building are 50 m² in size and brightly furnished. One of the suites has a separate living and sleeping area. The other has a spacious living/sleeping area, a spacious bathroom with bathtub and a balcony.
- In the guest house "Sophie Charlotte", which is located diagonally opposite the main building, there are two spacious single rooms with a small kitchenette and two junior suites with a walk-in wardrobe and cosy sitting area, as well as a ground-floor flat with a separate living room and bedroom and a terrace. The rooms are decorated in light, earthy colours and have modern furnishings.
- Our guest house "Mia Elisabeth", which is located in our hotel garden, has one single room and two double rooms. Both double rooms are connected by a door. The rooms are decorated in warm colours and the double rooms offer a wonderful view of the spacious garden.
Catering
In our award-winning restaurant "Schäferstuben" (13 points and 2 toques in Gault Millau) we use regional products with classic French influences. For example, you can look forward to roast Heidschnucken from the Tewes farm in Schmarbeck or, in winter, roast goose from the Schulze farm in Hetendorf.

Our own red wine cellar is located in our historic vaulted cellar, which was built in 1882. Around 300 wines are stored here, including wines from the "Knipser" winery in the Palatinate, the "Weinsberg" state winery in Württemberg and the "Barrel 27" winery in California. A worldwide selection in a rustic vault that invites you to enjoy tastings in small groups.
